Cone Crusher Spare Parts: Mantles & Bowl Liners

Cone crusher spare parts — mantle, bowl liner, concave, copper bushes and liners, quoted against the machine model and cavity drawing. Mn13

The wear chamber, the shaft bearings and the parts that keep oil inside the machine. Mantle, bowl liner and concave in manganese steel; inner, outer and spherical copper bushes in tin bronze. Everything is quoted against the machine model and the cavity drawing, because a cone liner that is almost right is worse than a worn one.

What actually wears on a cone

A cone crusher wears in two completely different ways, and they are bought in two different ways. The chamber — mantle, bowl liner, concave — is ground away by rock, so it is bought by the ton and by the cavity profile. The shaft assembly — inner bush, outer bush, spherical bearing — is not touched by rock at all; it is worn by heat and by oil that stopped being clean, so it is bought by the machine model and the bore measurement.

Most unplanned cone stoppages come from the second group, not the first. A liner that is 80% worn still crushes. A bush that lost its oil film seizes, and then the eccentric and the shaft go with it.

Choosing the grade from the duty, not from the price list

Mn13 work-hardens quickly and is the usual choice for limestone and medium-abrasive feed. Mn18 is for hard, blocky rock where the impact is severe and a 13% liner work-hardens too slowly at the surface. Mn22 is reserved for the heaviest tertiary duty — hard granite and basalt, closed-side settings that put the whole load on a narrow band.

On the bronze side the choice is tin bronze against high-lead tin bronze. Tin bronze (CuSn10P1) is the standard; the leaded grade buys a dry-running margin on machines whose oil supply is marginal. Neither survives a blocked oil passage, so the grade is the last question, not the first.
